The American Association of Police Polygraphists is dedicated to bringing together Law Enforcement professionals from throughout the country to advance the latest training and technology in the field. The AAPP is built on the exchange of ideas between its members who represent local, state, tribal, and federal law enforcement agencies. The AAPP strives for the highest standards and ethics among its members, while advancing a simple agenda; to bring the best training available on a consistent basis to polygraph examiners.
The National Polygraph Association's primary goal is to foster and perpetuate an accurate, reliable, and scientific means for the protection of the truthful and innocent individual. The NPA strives to improve the capabilities of membership by promoting education, research, advanced training, and by sharing experiences. Above all, the NPA is dedicated to fostering and maintaining the highest ethical standards and principals of practice.
Judiciously screens applicants for membership as to their education, training, experience and moral character so as to assure professional competence and ethical conduct by all members. Encourages education of members of the association and the polygraph community through education and training and to provide a forum for the presentation and exchange of information relative to polygraphy. Regulates the conduct of members by requiring the utilization of generally accepted standards, procedures and techniques. Governs its members by establishing a Code of Ethics and a set of Standards and Principles of Practice and requiring adherence to that code.
